Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $368,440 over two years to the Wilson Center to continue support for a series of in-depth AI policy seminars. Named for President Woodrow Wilson, the Wilson Center is a non-partisan policy forum for tackling global issues through independent research and open dialogue. We continue to believe the seminar series could help raise the salience of AI policy in Washington, D.C., policymaking circles, and could help us identify and empower one or more influential thinkers in those circles, a key component of our AI policy strategy.

This follows our July 2018 support and falls within our focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.
