The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $120,000 to the Mass Liberation Project, via Tides Advocacy Fund, for general support. The Mass Liberation Project is a new organization planning to focus on organizing and capacity building in target jurisdictions where there is opportunity for prosecutorial and bail reform. The Mass Liberation Project is interested in training formerly incarcerated organizers and helping to build robust, accountable relationships between prosecutors and communities most impacted by incarceration.
This grant was made by a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, to which we occasionally make funding recommendations.
