The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $1,200,000 over two years to World Animal Protection (WAP) to support work to advance farm animal welfare in East Asia. World Animal Protection is supporting model pig farms to demonstrate higher welfare to large pig producers. WAP plans to use these funds to continue engaging with pig producers and supermarkets, and expand outreach to large-scale chicken producers and retailers.

This follows our October 2016 grant and falls within our focus area of farm animal welfare.
