Chris Smith

Program Officer, Global Health & Wellbeing Partnerships

Chris leads Open Philanthropy’s work to engage emerging philanthropists with high impact opportunities in global health and wellbeing, including efforts to create ambitious new initiatives such as the Lead Exposure Action Fund. He also leads our research and thinking on behavioral public health policy within the Global Public Health Policy program. Chris previously produced research and ran special projects on the GHW research team. 

Prior to joining Open Philanthropy in 2022, he worked as a freelance strategy consultant, and previously at OC&C Strategy Consultants in London. Chris has bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Oxford and in Economics and Mathematical Sciences from the Open University; he completed his Masters in Public Health at Imperial College London.
