Santosh joined Open Philanthropy in January 2022. He leads Open Philanthropy’s grantmaking in South Asian Air Quality. Prior to this, he was a Fellow at the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, working with the Initiative for Climate, Energy and Environment. Before that, he worked as the Associate Director—Research at the India center of the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago, and did post-doctoral fellowships with J-PAL South Asia and Evidence for Policy Design. He has a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
