The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $1,600,000 over two years to the Albert Schweitzer Foundation for general support. The funding will allow the Albert Schweitzer Foundation to continue to pursue animal welfare reforms across Europe, including campaigns and litigation to improve the welfare of egg-laying hens, broiler chickens, farmed fish, and other animals.

This follows our January 2017 and September 2017 grants and falls within our focus area of farm animal welfare.
