Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $335,000 to asha bandele to support expenses related to writing and publicizing two books on criminal justice reform. asha has been a strong advocate for criminal justice reform and has used her writing as a platform for public engagement on the issue. The two new books will primarily be directed at Latinx and Black audiences, and are intended to engage more Latinx and Black leaders and communities on issues related to criminal justice reform.
This falls within our focus area of criminal justice reform.
