The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $25,000 to Momentum, a training institute and movement incubator, to support a training specifically for Black organizers. Momentum plans to use these funds to give organizers tools to build popular social movements around pressing justice issues, drawing on lessons and skills from contemporary and historic social movements. Many of those who plan to attend the training are involved in criminal justice reform work.

This follows our October 2018 support and falls within our focus area of criminal justice reform.
