The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $155,000 to Voices of Community Activists and Leaders Action Fund (VOCAL-NY Action Fund) to support work on prosecutor accountability. This funding will help VOCAL-NY Action Fund promote accountability demands, register voters, recruit new members, coordinate the Queens for DA Accountability coalition, and organize and educate members on the role of the prosecutor through town halls and other events.

This grant was made by a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, to which we occasionally make funding recommendations.

This discretionary grant follows our July 2016 support and falls within our focus area of criminal justice reform.
