The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $100,000 to We Got Us Now for general support. This grant falls within our work on criminal justice reform, and will support the launch of a digital platform devoted to the interests of children of incarcerated parents. The digital platform will include resources for children of incarcerated parents, storytelling media such as videos, audio files, and a blog, and a leadership institute to train children of incarcerated parents (ages 16-35) to organize and advocate for relevant criminal justice reforms. Funds from this grant will be used primarily for hiring staff and to cover costs associated with the production of original content.

    This is a discretionary grant.
