James joined Open Philanthropy in August 2022. He previously completed a PhD in structural biology at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK, before working on developing antibiotic discovery tools. More recently he was a Research Fellow in biosecurity at the University of Oxford.
