The Open Philanthropy Project recommended two grants totaling $683,000 to support Anima’s corporate chicken welfare campaigns and organizational capacity building in Scandinavia. The funding will allow Anima to launch hen and broiler chicken welfare campaigns over the next two years, as well as support expenses related to a planned merger with the Polish animal rights organization, Otwarte Klatki.

Our Program Officer for Farm Animal Welfare, Lewis Bollard, is excited to support Anima due to its track record securing Danish animal welfare reforms to date; his impression of its leadership team; and the organization’s strategic alignment with our goal to build a stronger farm animal welfare movement in Europe.

These grants fall within our focus area of farm animal welfare.
