The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $320,000 to Just Liberty for general support. Just Liberty intends to use these funds to continue its lobbying and outreach activities to build support for criminal justice reform in Texas. Many of its activities appeal to center-right voters, whose voices may be impactful on Republican lawmakers. This follows our April 2019 support and represents an “exit grant” that will provide Just Liberty with approximately 18 months of operating support.
This falls within our focus area of criminal justice reform.
